The Northern Brisbane Rollers present a double-header of roller derby at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
April was awesome. What could be better than a five-day weekend and a royal wedding?
Well how about some hot, hot edge of your seat roller derby action to warm up your winter?
Northern Brisbane Rollers will be back at the Exhibition Centre on May 28 with another double-header of rough and tumble and occasional stumble.
A crowd-warming challenge bout first up sees NBR’s reserve grade team, the NBR Ferals, take on Southern sisters the Bay Rollers. The Bay Rollers will be making the drive from Byron Bay and the last thing they’ll want after a long trip is a butt kicking, but that’s exactly what the Ferals will be looking to give.
After losing by just one point to the Toowoomba City Rollers in April, the Ferals will be taking no prisoners. The Bay Rollers are a relatively unknown entity this side of the border so whatever they’re packing, the Ferals had better be prepared.
In the headliner championship bout, new team The Untouchablelles will take on 2010 runners-up the Love Rockettes. The ‘Belles put up a good fight against the Diner Might Dolls during their debut bout, but weren’t gangster enough to take down the reigning champs. However, 'Belles jammer Thunderbolt won the new team some new fans with her scrappy survivor jamming style and team mate Violet Vex also racked up the points, giving the pack the slip time and time again. But the Love Rockettes are in good form and out to prove that they're not runner-up material. No doubt they're going to make it tough on the 'Belles to step up and make their mark.
Don’t miss this exciting sporting event in a premier CBD venue. As usual there will be bars, food outlet and market stalls open before and during the game.
Tickets are now on sale through Ticketek.
