[WA] Local roller derby outfit Gold City Rollers have set up what shapes as an enthralling game three series decider after easily proving the masters of the visiting Bunbury Brawlstars on Saturday night.
After lowering their colours to the South-West line-up when the series got under way in Bunbury last December, GCR were a dominant force from the outset in Saturday’s bout to run out 275-208 winners.
According to GCR president Kristy Lamont, the result – on the back of a 157-83 half-time lead – was the culmination of a ramped-up training program.
“I’m so proud of the girls because everything we’d practised over the past few months came together,” Lamont said.
“We’ve had some visiting coaches here already this year who have taught us some really great tactics.”
