These workshops are suitable for children aged 6 - 16 years of age. Our professional coaches are even able to teach those that have never skated before. If you don't have a helmet or a skateboard you are able to borrow one on the day, but it is essential that you notify us of this whilst registering. Girls are encouraged to attend.

They might be on opposite sides politically, but they came together to announce federal funding of $400,000 to build a memorial skate park to a town's fallen son.

Two candidates for the seat of Flynn, Labor incumbent Chris Trevor and endorsed Liberal National Party hopeful Ken O'Dowd, met the Gayndah community at the site where the park will be built and announced the funding.

The the allocation of funding means the government, together with the Gayndah community, will honour the memory of Sapper Jacob Moerland, by establishing the Sapper Jacob Moerland Memorial Skate Park in Gayndah.

Maddington (WA) skateboarder Joshua McMurray has won the Recreate!

Office for Youth Award for excellence in sport and recreation earning $2000 in prize money as well as a trophy.

City of Gosnells Youth Services nominated the 17 year old for the prize at the 2010 WA Youth Awards and Mayor Olwen Searle attended the presentation ceremony along with his family and friends.

“The City nominated Josh for his proactive approach to youth leadership,” the Mayor said.

“As part of the Maddington Skate Park Users group, he volunteers his free time to help run skate park events and judge competitions.

“Josh is a wonderful role model for young people in his community.”

A talented skateboarder, he is the current 18 and under sponsored division champion of the Australian SbA Dew Series and already has several sponsors.

It’s time to Break-n-Enter at Revesby Skatepark Saturday July 3.

The FREE Skateboarding workshops with some of Australia’s best skateboarders will be held at the Revesby Skatepark from 9am – 5pm.

No skateboard?  No worries! Skateboards and safety equipment will also be provided during the day on site with Skateboarding Australia’s nationally accredited coaches to lend a helping hand to the first timers.

Skateboarding Australia’s No Fear Break-n-Enter Days encourages the importance of sport participation and is a great way for kids to get out of the house, have fun and be active.

SbA Sport Development Manager, Mr Clae McMahon, says the No Fear Break-n-Enter launch is a great way for kids to have fun and try something new during the school holidays.

“No Fear Break-n-Enter allows youth to Break away from mainstream sports like football and soccer, and Enter into the dynamic action sport of skateboarding,” he said.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics recorded “49% (1.3million) of children between the ages of 5-14 had been skateboarding, rollerblading or riding a scooter” outside school hours.

No Fear Break-n-Enter has been created to encourage kids to get active, stay healthy and enjoy the action sport of skateboarding in a fun safe and professionally managed environment.

Dew Battle for Supremacy is the richest skateboard contest for Australasians, offering more than $40,000 in prize money over two competition rounds, with a bonus travel cheque to the overall Title winner.

This round has $20,000 up for grabs and is an invitational format, which means it showcases 20 of the gnarliest rippers in Australia… it's going to be gnarly. There's $6K for first, and all skaters get paid.

It’s free to watch...doors open from 3pm during skater practice.

Heats kick off from 4.30pm, Finals will be about 6.30 pm.
