Expressions of Interest open for Inline Hockey National Team Coach

Skate Australia is currently seeking applications for the Skate Australia Inline Hockey Coach for the 2026 World Skate Championships to be held in Paraguay and other tournaments TBD for the following teams: 

  • Senior Mens 

  • Senior Womens 

  • Junior Mens 

  • Junior Womens 

  • Under 15 

  • Under 13 

  • Under 11 


Main Duties & Responsibilities

Pre-Tournament 

  • Collaborate with selection panel as per Skate Australia Inline Hockey NTC, National Team Selection Policy. 

  • Attend National Championships and relevant events for scouting. 

  • Plan and conduct preparation camps and training schedules. 

  • Work with the Team Manager to finalise team logistics. 

  • Engage in pre-tournament communication with players, parents (where appropriate), and SA Inline Hockey NTC. 


During Tournament: 

  • Provide leadership and implement high-performance coaching plans. 

  • Oversee athlete welfare, team conduct, and injury management. 

  • Maintain communication with SA Inline Hockey NTC and team staff. 

  • Ensure adherence to Skate Australia and event rules, codes of conduct, and safety standards. 


Post-Tournament: 

  • Submit a coaching report including team and individual player performance. 

  • Provide feedback for future team development. 

  • Participate in a post-event debrief with Skate Australia Inline Hockey NTC. 



Who We’re Looking For

If you’re based anywhere in Australia and have experience, skills, or passion for the sport, we encourage you to apply.


Qualifications

  • Minimum: Inline Hockey Australia or World Skate-recognised coaching accreditation. 

  • Completion of required Sport Integrity Australia modules (Anti-Doping, Child Safeguarding, etc.). 

  • First Aid and Working With Children Check (or state equivalent). 

  • Be a current member of Skate Australia with good standing 

  • Must have a sound knowledge of current World Skate – Inline Hockey Technical Commission Regulations.


Essential experience must include:

  • Demonstrated success in coaching at a competitive level (national/state/international). 

  • Previous leadership of teams in high-pressure tournament settings. 

  • Ability to manage and motivate diverse athlete groups. 

  • Must hold a Working with Children card or the applicants’ State equivalent. 

  • Previous coaching experience with a high level sports team. 

  • Experience and or qualifications in teaching or leadership
