Brisbane’s Corey Nixon won a thrilling men's street final by just 0.83, in a dramatic finish to Lismore’s Rumble on the River event on Sunday.

Nixon laid down a massive 70.60 in his first run, and a solid 62, but had a nervous wait after Jack Lewis finished with a flourish in his final run, but his 67.50 wasn’t quite enough to steal victory at the end.

Wollongong’s Felicity Turner won the women’s street event, putting down five consistent performances bookended by a 53.83 and a 55.00 to win ahead of Ella Ledingham.

Gold Coast’s Coco Crafter took out the women’s bowl, her first run of 67.20 enough to secure the victory.

Newcastle’s Taj Wolfenden claimed the men’s bowl with an epic 80.50 first run enough to seal the win.

Rumble on the River was an official Skate Australia Olympic pathway event. The competition was a key stop on the Rumble Pro Tour and one of only four national events to feature both Street and Park disciplines, showcasing Lismore’s world-class skatepark as a premier venue for rising talent.

As part of Skate Australia’s recognised Olympic pathway, competitors at Rumble on the River earned points towards national team selection, an important stepping stone for athletes working toward future Olympic Games.

More than 150 competitors from across Australia competed across multiple divisions including U9, U12, U16 and Open categories for both men and women. The event also featured a significant $20,000 in cash and prizes, split equally across Street and Park, with equal prizemoney for men and women.
