Nine Aussies Through To San Juan WST Quarterfinals



Nine Australia's are through to the San Juan World Skate Tour quarterfinals at Skatepark Pocito in Argentina.


Thirteen-year-old Arisa Trew topped the women's qualification with a best score of 71.21 in Thursday's qualifiers.


Ruby Trew was close behind, qualifying third with a score of 70.00, with Brazil's Raicca Oliveira (70.50) splitting the Aussies in the top three rankings.



Charlotte Health was the third Aussie in the top-10 qualifiers, putting down an impressive run to score 62.50 and qualify sixth.


Aaliyah Wilson ( 60.13) and Poppy Olsen (55.00) will join Arisa, Ruby and Charlotte in Friday's quarterfinal, after qualifying 18th and 27th respectively.


Taniah Meyers missed out on advancing by a mere 0.14 points, placing after Olsen in 28th place.


Twenty-seven qualified riders will join the top-five ranked pre-seeded skaters in the women's quarterfinal, getting underway at 9am local time on Friday 26 May (10pm AEST). Live scoring HERE.


In the men's qualifiers, Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Keegan Palmer comfortably qualified fourth (75.10). Ethan Copeland's top score of 67.55 saw him qualify 19th, one spot ahead of his compatriot Keefer Wilson on 67.55.


Palmer, Copeland and Wilson will all join their teammate Kieran Woolley in the 32-skater quarterfinal, with Woolley's #4 World Ranking automatically booking him a ticket into Saturday's event.




Phoenix Sinnerton finished 61st from 94 athletes, with a top qualifying score of 31.98.


The men's quarterfinals will take place from 9am local time on Saturday 27th May (10pm AEST). Live scoring HERE.


Straight after the men's quarterfinals will be the women's semifinals from 4 - 6pm local (5 - 7am AEST Sunday 28 May) and the men's semifinals at 7.30 - 9.30pm local (8.30 - 10.30am AEST Sunday 28 May).


Champions will be crowned in Sunday's finals with the women up first at 5.15pm local time (6.15am AEST Monday 29 May) with the men shortly after at 6.20pm local (7.20am AEST AEST Monday 29 May).
