Skate Australia statement on World Skate Games

As the World Skate Games Paraguay 2026 come to a close, Skate Australia congratulates every Australian athlete who has represented our country on the world stage.

Across multiple disciplines, our athletes have delivered outstanding performances, personal milestones and achievements that reflect their talent, dedication and determination. We are immensely proud of their efforts and the way they have represented Australia.

These Games have also presented challenges, and we acknowledge the resilience and professionalism demonstrated by our athletes, coaches, team managers and support personnel in navigating difficult and unexpected circumstances.

Our athletes deserve safe, supportive and well-organised competition environments that enable them to perform at their best.

We recognise the significant complexity of delivering an international multi-sport event of this scale and commend Paraguay, the Local Organising Committee and World Skate for their efforts in bringing the Games together. We appreciate the commitment and work involved and look forward to building on these efforts through constructive collaboration and continuous improvement.

Following the Games, Skate Australia will seek feedback from our athletes and teams and work constructively with World Skate to advocate for improvements to event delivery, contingency planning, venue safety and athlete welfare at future international competitions.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed to Australia's campaign, particularly the coaches, team managers, officials, families, volunteers and support personnel who have supported our athletes throughout the Games.

To our athletes, congratulations. Your achievements, determination and commitment have made Australia proud.
