Skate Australia is pleased to announce three Australian officials have been appointed by World Skate to officiate at the 2026 World Skate Games in Paraguay.
The officials are:
Aleisha Hurley – Rink Hockey
Jay Doorty – Scooter
Robert Love-Dekazos – Inline Hockey
Scooter Official Jay Doorty returns to the World Skate Games after officiating at the 2024 Games in Rome.
“Being selected to officiate at the World Skate Games 2026 is both an honour and a responsibility I’m very grateful for,” Doorty said.
“I’m committed to judging with clarity, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring each rider’s effort is reflected fairly in their results.”
For Love-Dekazos, officiating has provided a way to remain involved in hockey beyond his playing career and build lifelong friendships through the sport.
“The most rewarding part of being an official over the years has been the people in the sport within Australia and overseas,” Love-Dekazos said.
“The game has introduced me to lifelong friends and this is something that affects your life more than just what happens on the rink.
“The opportunity to stay involved in hockey after my time playing had ended has also been extremely important and a rewarding part of the journey. For anyone looking to be an official or progress with their officiating Mr Mark O’Brian and Mr Duane Voss have always been a massive support to me.
“Always talk to the older officials that have been doing this for a long time you will get great stories and insights into being an official."
The 2026 World Skate Games will be held in Paraguay.
