Olivia Birkett new Independent Chair, Nominations Committee

Skate Australia is delighted to announce Olivia Birkett as the new Independent Chair of the Nominations Committee.
A proven leader in sport, Olivia is currently Chief Executive Officer of Tennis West. She brings a wealth of leadership, administration and governance experience across state sporting organisations along with local and state government and institutes of sport.
“I’ve been impressed watching how Skate Australia has formed as a National Body in recent years, leading several distinct sports with their own culture and identity. I’m excited by the challenge of chairing the Nominations Committee to ensure that Skate Australia maintains its standards of sports governance and has high quality board directors who can add value and strategic direction into the future,” she said.
The Board Nominations Committee is a formal sub-committee of the Skate Australia Board with the purpose to ensure that there is a robust approach to Board governance matters, identify and assess candidates to fill Director vacancies and manage aspects of the election/recruitment process.
The Board Nominations Committee also assists and advises the Skate Australia Board on policies relating to people, culture, conduct, equity, diversity and inclusion when required.
Olivia will be joined by Christopher Winn as the Board Representative and David Guest as the Member Representative on the committee, with an initial focus on recruitment of elected and appointed directors ahead of the 2025 Skate Australia AGM.
