Australian riders made their mark in a big way at the World Skate Oceania Continental Scooter Championships, securing multiple podium finishes across divisions.

In the open Park division, Australia dominated the podium. Taj Shambrook took out first place, with Corey Sponseller right behind him in second, showing the depth of talent in the team. Street saw another strong result, with Felix Corcoran riding to first place and continuing Australia’s presence at the top.

In the junior ranks, Jake Harrop claimed silver with Elijah Wood backing it up in third. Toby Chew added another podium finish in Street with second place.

On the women’s side, Emily Gibson and Akira Mellor just missed out on podium in Park, highlighting the strength of Australia’s female riders.

The World Skate Oceania Continental Scooter Championships 2026 lit up Bay Skate in Napier, New Zealand in early March, delivering a standout event across both Street and Park disciplines. As a World Skate World Cup Challenger, the competition drew top talent from across the region and set a high bar for the season ahead.

It was the kind of competition that shows exactly how far the sport has come in Oceania.

12 Australian athletes competed at the event, showcasing the depth, consistency, and progression of scooter riding back home. With performances like these, there’s plenty to be excited about as we look ahead to the rest of the 2026 season, including the 2026 Scooter Australian National Championships commencing on the 9th July at Ramp Attak in Ipswich, QLD.
