Skate Australia is seeking dedicated individuals from across Australia to join the Skate Australia Roller Derby Technical Committee.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development, governance, and progression of roller derby at a national and international level.
About the Committee
The Skate Australia Roller Derby Technical Committee will play a crucial role in:
Advocating for the needs of the roller derby community within Skate Australia
Developing policies and programs to support leagues, athletes, and officials
Enhancing pathways for player development and high-performance athletes
Promoting inclusion and diversity to ensure a welcoming space for all participants
Supporting officials, both skating and non-skating, in their training and advancement
Fostering collaboration between leagues, coaches, and athletes to strengthen roller derby nationwide
Who We’re Looking For
We want a diverse and well-rounded committee that reflects all aspects of the roller derby community. Applicants from all over Australia are encouraged to apply, and we welcome individuals from various backgrounds, including:
Ideal candidates may include:
Players (all levels, including high-performance athletes)
Coaches and trainers
Officials (both skating referees and NSOs)
League administrators and community leaders
High-performance roller derby athletes representatives
Inclusion and diversity advocates
Anyone passionate about supporting and growing roller derby in Australia

Attend monthly committee meetings (virtual and/or in-person as required)

Collaborate with Skate Australia and the wider community to develop initiatives
Be a voice for the derby community, ensuring fair and inclusive representation
