Australia’s Olympic champions once again showcased their class on the world stage, with Keegan Palmer and Arisa Trew both advancing to the finals of the World Skateboarding Tour (WST) World Cup in Rome, Italy.

Competing at Ostia’s iconic park venue, the opening major event of the LA28 Olympic qualification cycle attracted the world’s best skateboarders and delivered another strong showing from the Australian team.

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Palmer produced a consistent campaign to reach the Men’s Park final, where he finished fifth with a 91.38 against a stacked international field. Palmer had qualified strongly throughout the week and remained in contention throughout the final as the standard of riding reached new heights.

In the Women’s Park competition, reigning Olympic champion Trew continued her impressive form by progressing through qualifying and semi-finals to reach the final. The 16-year-old finished among the world’s best once again, a 74.55 in the final not enough for a podium, but reinforcing her status as one of the leading figures in global skateboarding.

Australia was well represented throughout the park competition, with several athletes advancing deep into the event and collecting valuable World Skateboarding Ranking points as the road to Los Angeles 2028 gathers momentum.
