Perth’s Mia Kretzer and Newcastle’s Taj Wolfenden claimed the Rumble on the Beach (Park) - Skate Australia National Park Championships at the Gold Coast on Sunday.

The country’s best skateboarding talent put on a show at Elanora Skate Park, for the second weekend of the Gold Coast Festival of Skateboarding.

The Gold Coast Festival of Skateboarding, presented by Skate Australia, is Australia’s largest multi‑day celebration of skateboarding, youth culture and action sports.

11-year-old Mia Kretzer continued her winning run, taking out the Women’s Park Final.

Just one week after returning to Australia with four XGames medals, Kretzer impressed the judges in the final with a winning score of 88.27.

Coco Crafter finished in second with 81.10, and Eliza Pols rounded out the podium in third with a score of 79.00.

In the Men’s Park Final, Novacastrian Taj Wolfenden was crowned the men’s champion, with a score of 91.60.

After the first run, Wolfenden was sitting in second on a score of 87.33, before putting down his Championship winning score in run 2.

Olympian Keefer Wilson took home the silver, while 16-year-old Eddie Acres finished in third.

“In qualifiers I did a very basic run, just enough to get me through,” Wolfenden said.

“And then I had a bit of a plan of what I was going to add each time (in the final), so I did a slightly harder run, first run, which was good.

“Second run, is the run that got me the win - so I added a trick that no-one is really doing, alley-oop frontside kickside air, which would’ve helped a lot.

“It came down to consistency, which helped me a lot.”
