Skate Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors.
Abbie Brice, Dr Melissa McEwen and Miles Stewart OAM OLY were elected at Wednesday evening’s Annual General Meeting held via a virtual conference call.
Skate Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Alex Anasson applauded the appointments, noting the valuable expertise and experience the new Directors offer to the organisation.
“We are pleased to officially welcome our newly elected Directors to the Skate Australia Board.” Anasson said.
“With the support of our Board's collective experience, we will continue to develop our sport and strengthen our skate communities across the country.”
“Our new Directors contribute a wealth of experience across a diverse range of disciplines, covering governance, leadership, integrity and high performance.”
Anasson also took the opportunity to thank outgoing Chair, Dr Phil Hamdorf, who was appointed to the Board in 2022.
“On behalf of Skate Australia, we thank Phil for his service and contribution to the organisation over the past three years. Phil’s experience and expertise has played a valuable role in the continued growth of our organisation, across our diverse range of disciplines and sports.”
An update on the appointment of a new Chair will be provided after Skate Australia’s next Board of Directors meeting. The Board will also consider appointing an additional two Directors in the coming months.
