Skateboarder Kieran Woolley selected for Sport Australia Hall of Fame scholarship

Skateboarder Kieran Woolley, who achieved a Top 5 finish in the Men's Park Skateboarding at Tokyo 2020, has been selected in the the Sport Australia Hall of Fame 2022 Scholarship and Mentoring Program.


Kieran joins 15 other outstanding young athletes in today's announcement, who hail from a variety of sports including Athletics, Archery, Artistic Swimming, Boxing, Fencing, Figure Skating, Gymnastics, Netball, Shooting, Taekwondo and Tennis.


"It is amazing to be recognised as an up-and-coming skateboarder and to have the support of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame as I continue to chase my skateboarding dreams," said Kieran. "The Sport Australia Hall of Fame is an iconic institution and it is awesome to be associated with it as a Scholarship Holder."


Skate Australia's Skateboarding High Performance Manager, James Karageorgiou, said Kieran was a great choice. "As the youngest male park skateboarding competitor at Tokyo 2020, Kieran is a rising star on the world stage. He's extremely diligent, hard working and is yet to reach his full potential. Kieran is our third skateboarder to be selected as part of the Program and we're grateful to SAHOF for providing such a tremendous opportunity."


Kieran receives a $2,500 sporting grant plus support and encouragement across the next 12 months from SAHOF and its members. More details here
