Skateboarding Set for LA28 Olympics

Following its proposal by the International Olympic Committee and endorsement by LA28, Skate Australia is excited to announce that skateboarding has been included in the list of 28 sports to be submitted for approval at the IOC Session in Beijing, along with surfing and sport climbing.

"These awesome action sports share an energy and culture that will be perfect for the LA28 Olympics," said Skate Australia Executive Director, Ariane de Rooy. "They have a California vibe and will provide an incredible fan experience."

Skateboarding High Performance Manager, Debbie Savage said, "With only 2.5 years until Paris 2024 our team is working diligently to prepare support for our athletes and coaches. If today's announcement is approved in February, LA28 will provide the perfect long term runway to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics. We're stoked!"
